DESTINATION CLUB PARTNERS LAUNCHES
LUXURY VACATION HOME NEWSLETTER
Park City, UT - August 1, 2002 - Destination Club Partners (DCP) has launched a Luxury Vacation Home Newsletter providing news, information and location spotlights to people that own, or dream of owning, a vacation home. The Newsletter is available at no cost to anyone via email and will soon have a print edition available to members of private residence clubs.
The Luxury Vacation Home Newsletter will have articles from the top professionals in real estate, travel, investing and development, as well as many other industries, in an effort to supply the very best information concerning the second-home market. The Newsletter will benefit anyone interested in a Residence Club membership and/or multiple, wholly owned residences.
The interest in vacation homes has generally been stable within the affluent markets. In recent months however, according to DCP research, the aging population, low interest rate, volatile stock market and the desire to vacation closer to home have driven interest in vacation homes, particularly in resort and metropolitan destinations, to unprecedented levels. According to the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, between 1991 and 1999 the number of second homes, based upon the broadest definition, grew thirteen percent, with most of the growth occurring since 1995. Since the late 1980s, when DCP created the first Residence Club at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, resort and metropolitan developers consistently have turned to DCP for information and assistance. The inquiries range from the basics, for example, "How do I get started?" and "What are the tax issues involved?" to more complex questions, such as, "How do I start my own Residence Club?" and "How can Residence Club ownership be held by a business entity?"
According to Greg Hadley, a DCP Principal, "the creation of a Newsletter has been discussed for years to help keep current multi-residence owners informed. However, the Newsletter has become a business requirement to aid in the increased number of people looking for the first time at buying a second home." Mr Hadley continued: "The Newsletter will not focus exclusively on Residence Clubs but will be a resource to anyone seeking information on vacation home ownership, regardless of whether they are interested in whole or fractional ownership."
DCP will be working with Dering, Elliott & Associates (DEA), a Utah based agency, to create the layout and distribution of the Newsletter. Initially the Newsletter is available to the general public only via email. Subscription is available at the Multi-Residence Newsletter subscription web page at www.vacationhomenews.com or by sending an email to join@vacationhomenews.com .
